THIS YEAR'S FACULTY
That Which Connects realizes the importance in investing in the next generation of artists, not simply in words but in deeds. Experiential learning is foremost in arts education, integrating what is learned within the confines of a dance studio with the wealth of experience only derived from being on stage. The opportunity for a young dancer to be inspired, encouraged, nurtured and groomed by professionals that don’t want to just share their art, but want to encourage another’s journey, is sure to be life changing. This five day intensive will introduce advanced training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, and hip hop, jumps and turns and stretch/pilates, offering exposure to a variety of dance forms to optimize strength, versatility and creativity Technical training, artistic exploration, and performance opportunities are the three immensely powerful experiences that will be gained by attending the intensive.
Pre-professional dancers, ages 13-18.
Complete registration form.
Submission of video footage of applicant during a performance, rehearsal, or class instruction.
Registration Fee of $350.
Scholarships based on financial need will be generously awarded, and therefore, those with a financial inability to pay, should not deem the registration fee as a deterrent to applying, but are highly encouraged to apply.
Artistic Director, Sonia James Pennington, will set a repertoire piece and one original work on the young artists to be performed during the festival. These young artists will share the stage with the very professionals that they studied with throughout the week.
