June - August
COLLEGE SUMMER RESIDENCY
The purpose of this residency is to provide college level artists with the hands on experience of rehearsing and performing with a professional dance company. This residency will provide additional training and performance opportunities usually unavailable to dancers still enrolled in a college-level program. This residency fully immerses college-level dancers in a dance company’s journey of producing and preparing for a professional dance performance. Since most college or university students never have the opportunity to experience the real world life of a dancer post graduation, this residency is a incredibly unique opportunity to network and forge personal relationships with professionals in the dance world, as well as open doors for future mentorships.
Dancers interested in consideration for the residency must submit an application by May 31, 2019, which includes a video submission of a solo performance. Acceptance into the program will be on going, however, applicants will be notified of acceptance no later than July 1, 2019. Dancers must be available for all rehearsals and classes from June- August. (Prior summer commitments and conflicts must be fully disclosed at time of acceptance.) Classes and rehearsals to be primarily held on Thursday afternoons between 11pm-4pm (a schedule including duration and exact time will be provided upon acceptance). Additional rehearsals on different days and times may be scheduled, so dancers must be flexible. Dancers must provide their own transportation to rehearsal studios in Central New Jersey, South Jersey and Philadelphia. Dancers must be available for week long intensive August 14-17, 2019 from 9am-9pm, as well for the festival performances and technical rehearsals on August 18, 2019 at Rutgers University, Camden campus. Housing and transportation not provided.
